New Article on 2014 Status of Kudzu Bugs in Maryland

Concluding our summer field sampling, our team wrote a short article updating the status of kudzu bugs in Maryland. We reported that the cold winter seemed to have an effect on the population size and timing of emergence this year. Many questions still remain in determining the kudzu bugs emergence, number of generations, and potential for soybean damage in Maryland. Currently, it seems that the low numbers possibly due to harsh winter conditions has helped keep the kudzu bug populations from becoming a major agricultural pest in Maryland.
